Militoys
The enthusiasm shown for collecting small soldiers, armoured vehicles or planes is not recent. However, for a few years now, there is such a resurgence in the trend that it has become a real social phenomenon. Thanks to modern techniques, these often-mass-produced objects have shown that they are now of good quality and that everybody can afford them. Others, such as action Figures (DID, Dragon, BBI, Ignite, Twisting Toys, 21st Century) have succeeded in a record time in attracting innumerable fans, surprised by the stupendous realism of the weapons, the insignia, the equipment, the cloth uniforms (battle Gear Toys, New Line, 6th Scale Icons). Dad’s traditional lead soldier also has its day since some dynamic names (King and Country, Conté) now offer the well-informed public realistic little scenes, miniature reproductions of great events from history, from Antiquity to to-day. As for aircraft, they carry on fascinating with examples where you just have to open the box to marvel at them (21st Century, BBI). But up until now however, the “mili-fana” collector was condemned to wander through pages and pages of specialised publications to find material for his hobby. It was therefore urgent to create a single magazine which gathers together all the models and all the scales together. For your interest in history through the medium of toys under arms and in uniform… here is Militoys, your magazine.
